Life is hard — especially for the rest of us who have jobs.
So how should we relax? Travel, that’s the answer AOL Travel suggests, and we couldn’t agree more. So if you’ve got so much money you don’t know what to do with it, check out the list AOL put together for relaxing trips.
Also, it was interesting that AOL couldn’t find one place in those fly over states that would let a weary traveler relax. Nope, not-a-one. We thought maybe Texas might have something worth looking at. But the closest AOL came to that was a dude ranch in Montana, which has become the state Californians go to feel like they’re part of nature.
Anyway, here’s AOL suggestions.
Mii Amo Spa, Arizona: A destination spa, this place will change the way you think about spas. Our guess, we can’t afford it.
The Island of Sanibel Captiva, Florida: It’s so relaxing, it’s
boring. But you can also find some good deals. And if you like watching sunsets, this is a great place to go.
The Spa at Wynn: Another spa but not in a typical location. We’ve tried to book rooms there, but Steve Wynn doesn’t like us as much as AOL. (We totally understand.)
Runamuk Guest Ranch, Montana: Horseback riding, branding, the saloon life, what
could be more relaxing? Romantising the past is a great way to forget about today, but it may lack some of the real-life details that show how dangerous life really was back then. The ranch does not include anthrax, influenza, crop failures and the pending starvation or cannibalism, showerless weeks and how untreated syphillus will ravage any cowboy or cowgirl.
Two Bunch Palms Resort: It’s only a few hours outside of LA so it’s got to be good. The resort will leave you with some of the best skin in the world — at least we’ve heard that. And good skin will take you far in life.
Other recommendations from AOL include:
Barefoot Resort, South Carolina
The Lodge at Woodloch, New York
Anirondack Mountains, New York
