We are still at the M Resort and Spa in Henderson, Nevada and have found one of the coolest Wine Bars ever. In the hidden bowels far below the M Resort, accessible only by an exclusive modern glass elevator, is The Hostile Grape.
This place is wine Nirvana for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike. The décor is sheik and inviting and the experience is one-of-a-kind…well few and far between anyway. The Hostile Grape and the M Resort boasts one of the largest collections of Enomatic machines. According to the Enomatic company founded by two Tuscan entrepreneurs, the Enomatic systems dispense wine directly from the bottle using revolutionary inert gas preservation. The flavors and characteristics of the wine remain intact for more than three weeks, as if the bottle had just been opened. It then allows you, the drinker to self-dispense one, three and five ounce pours of wine.
The Hostile Grape offers 160 varieties of wine via Enomatic from all over the world. I’m in heaven, seriously.
Just like at Dave and Busters or other video game hall, you’ll purchase a Wine Card from the hosts at The Hostile Grape. You can add money to your card to purchase wine via Enomatic not just in the cellar wine bar, but throughout the hotel where Enomatics are available. Then, you insert your card into the machine and it will reveal the monetary balance on the card. It will also light up the display above each wine letting you know the price for a one, three and five ounce pour. Press the button corresponding to the pour size, place your glass below the spout and wine will be dispensed.
At the Hostile Grape they offer Enomatic in the round as well as in wall displays. The Reds are generally in the rounds and the whites are refrigerated to perfection in the wall. Wines are presented by region grouping together wines from Napa and the US in one area, South America in another and so on. Pours range from $2 an ounce to $190 an ounce depending on the wine.
The Hostile Grape is without-a-doubt the best wine tasting experience I have ever had. Whether you are in Henderson or not, a quick visit to the M Resort’s Hostile Grape is well worth the trip. Oh yeah and make sure you try Purple Angel, a Montes wine from Chile - a blend of 92% Carmenère and 8% Petit Verdot with 18 months in new French and American oak barrels. Thanks to The Hostile Grape, this is my new favorite.
When your money runs out, just ask a host to recharge your card and keep drinking.

Woohoo!! Just another spot to go on the cheap trip to Vegas!
