the-color-of-money-from-around-the-world24Canada’s money is so cute. It just makes you want to buy a hotel on Park Place and maybe a few fixer uppers on Marvin Gardens.

But if you’re using US greenbacks to buy some of those Loonies, it’s going to start costing you a lot more. A couple of economic factors have come into play and many experts expect the Canadian dollar to move to record highs against George Washingtons.

Bloomberg News is reporting that the Canadian dollar could move to new highs as the Canadian colourful back is becoming more valuable and the U.S. dollar is trending in the opposite direction. It’s been more than a year since the two country’s dollars were wroth the same (and spelled the same for that matter.)

This is not good news for anyone who wants to spend more time — and money — outside of our borders. The strong Canadian dollar also means that Canuks will start filling American beaches with their black socks and sandals with speedo outfits. It’s going to get ugly and we’re not just talking about under tipping.
