Now don’t throw up — from altitude sickness or the Today Show.
But last week’s infamous balloon tour of Colorado got us thinking: Where are the best places to take a balloon ride — and by “take a balloon ride” we don’t mean to hide in a box above the ceiling tiles while news men shriek in melodramatic horror.
No, we mean, high floating, champaign sipping ballooning. (Did you know alcohol will effect you even more
the higher up you go?)
So after scouring the Internet all morning, we were able to dig up this year old story by Forbes (we typed “best balloon trips” into Google) and were impressed. Imagine drifting over the Nile, King Tut’s Tomb 2,000 feet below your wicker basket. Or think about floating above Paris on a
similar route the first balloon pilots experienced just over 200 years ago. (A side note, here, Ben Franklin, the hippest traveler in the 1700s witnessed the launch.)
So what about balloon boy and his camera shy parents? They’re just full of hot air.
