Everyone deserves a weekend in Vegas, if not more than one.

There’s lots to do, the possibility that you might win enough at the tables and slots to pay for the whole trip and the alcohol is often free.
A recent hipster traveler shared some of her pictures from a trip in Vegas and a few of her notes on the trip, which included an evening at the Ghost Bar at the Palms and Foundation Room at the Mandalay. Obviously, there was lots of drinking and a visit to the baby lions at the MGM:
Thoughts on the Tropicana: “ALL of the rooms were nasty! Dirty, smelled like smoke, the grout in the bathroom was literally black and it used to be white, the bathtubs / showers were gross and had mold. The best part … this was HILARIOUS!! … all the rooms have bamboo mirrors on the ceiling above the bed and on the side and headboard of the bed! So funny!!”
Now trashy chic is fine by us, but you should never feel the need to put on shower shoes just to wash up. Of the pictures our uber kewl reader sent us, we thought the one of the man in the red swimming trunks was by far the best of the ugly American shots. You just never know what you’re going to find around the pool.
While the rooms my not have been ideal, they were cheap and that’s what made the package deal so affordable. And hopping on a plane and spending a long weekend in Vegas beats watch NetFlix, no matter what the condition of the room.
Here are a few other shots sent our way:
- People have cameras everywhere, so pull up your trunks and get out of range of our view finder.
- Even during the day the Monte Carlo looks beautiful
- Obligitory friends photo for Facebook.
- Some of the Tropicana staff — 100 percent natural, beer.
- Chics love baby lions, you can see these at the MGM.
- There’s a reason so may Americans don’t travel overseas: No. 1, why go to Paris when all the highlights are available in Vegas?
- Ceaser’s statue comes to life on the hour.
- The reason man invented fountains was for portrait shots.
- As the sun sets over New York (Vegas style) the city on the strip come to life.
- Try the Ghost Bar at the Palms for an easy night and great view.
- Sure, things slow down after 5 a.m. but that’s just when the breakfast buffets open up.
- Readers snap a pic from their room at the Tropicana and get out as quickly as possible.
- The down side to pools is not everyone should be strutting around in the bathing suits.
- The rooms may not have been stellar at the Tropicana, but the pool was.
- What trip isn’t complete without the whole gang. This is why cameras need timers.
- Another group picture, you’ve got to like a crowd that more people keep joining the fun. Also, count the cocktails. Go team!
