Parked outside of the American Coney Island on Lafayette Boulevard in downtown Detroit is a giant tank.

While it may be a prop in the remake of Red Dawn (a classic travel movie where Russians and Cubans decide to tour the Western U.S.) the tank may have helped make Detroit’s Devil’s night a bust for ghoulish tourists hoping to snap photos of the city burning. A band of merry photographers arrived in Detroit a few days ago to take in the sights, according to The Detroit News. The city’s tourism office could not confirm if this sponsored trip represented the first group of tourists to come to Detroit of their own free will in more than two decades. Fortunately for the city, there were not incidents — though, no doubt the clueless photographers were disappointed that it was no longer 1985.

P1010032Detroit’s mayor has considered changing the name of Devil’s night to “Avoid Foreclosure Night” but that issue has been stalled in City Council.

The tank, however, remains — along with campaign signs from President Obama’s historic presidential bid last year.
