What better way to show the world how much work you do by not working.
French workers are striking this week — more out of a sense of principle than anything else — and it’s going to impact some travelers who like spend a few hours in a museum or two.
The Associated Press reports that Versailles has closed down due to a museum workers strike in France. The Los Angeles Times added that six out of 31 museums have closed because of the strike.
Striking is France is more of an event than it is a protest of unfair labor practices.
No doubt the striking museum workers are upset over the eight weeks vacation they get every year and the mandatory two hour lunches of wine and cheese. The three day work week may also be some thing of concern.
We have not seen any photos of French on tractors driving the the countryside in deep protest (this is very common there).
Management will no doubt crumble to the demands of the powerful museum workers force — surrender is in their genes.
