Breaking news: TSA post security procedures online — oops

tsa-coverpng-7f67eae2d743ea08_mediumThe TSA accidently posted their Standard Operating Procedures to a government website, tipping their hands to terrorists around the world who were completely baffled how to get anything past unplugged in metal detectors and anxious TSA agents ready to leave their shift early.

Then again, maybe this is a work of genius — a double, double secret plan to trick the terrorists with tricky trickery but none nibbled on the bait, so the TSA had to issue a press release to remind terrorists the booklet was still available. Go to: wanderingaramean.com to take a peek at it).

If you’re looking for a silver lining, at least someone will actually read it.

CNN is calling the mishap a “massive security breach” and even Campbell Brown calls this a horrible thing almost coming to tears over the matter because she may have to fly over the holidays.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer even quoted Billie Vincent, president and CEO of Aerospace Securities International, “It’s a major breach. It would be almost impossible to acquire this amount of information through surveillance.”

So is security worse now that the word is out? Yes, bombers now know that they can make really, really, really small bombs and they might be able to get them past the TSA, according to some reports. However, tests of much bigger bombs have been snuck by TSA already and that’s probably more dangerous than the small ones.

Think about it, the word was already out, and nothing happened. Now everyone is yammering about it and still, nothing has happened.

Serious? Nope. Will people make a big deal out of it? You betcha.

We choose to see the good news behind this unfortunate mistake, this document proves that the at least the TSA is supposed to have some sort of standard procedure — even if it’s not following it. And at least the 90-plus page document wasn’t just made out of old cheeseburger wrappers.
