Day6LGEvery traveler needs cool travel gear — it’s not just a pack, it’s a “feel good about yourself conversation piece.”

Enter Moutainsmith Backpacks, inventor of the Lumber Series. (Yeah, at first we thought that had something to do with our lower backs too.)

But actually, the Lumber Series Day pack makes urban adventures that much better. The unique looking bag will garner attention, carry all of your essentials and look cool at the same time. Plus, and there’s the conversation bonus, it’s recycled.

The Day pack costs $80 and toss in the external straps and you’ve got a handy day pack that will free up your hands as well.

MessengerBagSmallRecycled7LGAnother very cool bag we came across is the Moutainsmith Messenger Bag, which can serve as a daily carry all. It costs $45 and comes in a variety of colors, we don’t know if it can serve as a good computer bag, but if it has the toughness promised by Moutainsmith, it would certainly stand out in world of less than durable bags and totes.

Gift rating: Very Cool

Good for: Hipster wannabes who have a lot of stuff to carry around with them or just cool people who know it.

Not good for: People who lose stuff.

Value: Depends on how durable the bags prove to be.
