First there was the shoe bomber, now there’s the pillow bomber — in both cases, thankfully, — they were duds.
While some details remain unclear, Reuters is reporting, that a Nigerian national flying from Amsterdam to Detroit used some sort of chemicals to create a big fire in his lap a few minutes before the flight was scheduled to land in Detroit.
At least two passengers subdued the attacker as he pillow caught fire and filled at 
least part of the plane with smoke. All in all, it was the most exciting flight arriving in Detroit since Kid Rock returned to his beloved city for a Walleye tournament.
While the terrorist has learned you can’t down a plane with a smoke bomb, the attack is now being called an attempted terrorist attack by everyone from President Obama to gas station attendants around the world, and European security will be slagged by Americans through the weekend. There is some good news: No one was actually hurt other than the guy who caught his own belly on fire.
