Call it the Final Patdown:

The Transportation Security Administration announced just a few hours ago that beginning at midnight passengers on flights inbound to the US will face much more stringent security measures including pat downs, bomb testing and complete second searches of their carry on luggage (which they may or may not be able to touch after stowing it on the plane.

Waterboarding was not mentioned specifically in the release.

“The new directive includes long-term, sustainable security measures developed in consultation with law enforcement officials and our domestic and international partners,” the statement said.

According to live accounts, people are patted down, foreign agents also searched inside the beltline of people’s pants, and inspected every person’s carry on baggage. We advise not wearing especially tight clothing as nothing is worse than a latex burn during a quick reach around (search).

“Because effective aviation security must begin beyond our borders, and as a result of extraordinary cooperation from our global aviation partners, TSA is mandating that every individual flying into the U.S. from anywhere in the world traveling from or through nations that are state sponsors of terrorism or other countries of interest will be required to go through enhanced screening,” the TSA said Sunday. “The directive also increases the use of enhanced screening technologies and mandates threat-based and random screening for passengers on U.S. bound international flights.”

There are seven nations that the U.S. State Department considers to sponsor terrorists. They include Iran, Syria, Yemen, Cuba, and three other nations 68 percent of US citizens cannot find on a map.

The new rules were created in response to the failed attack over Detroit, when the Nigerian flaming crotch bomber attempted to ignite his underwear as Delta/Northwest Flight 253 was on final approach to Motor City after a long flight from Amsterdam.
