Ok, so you know you’ve got a little hipster inside you. You’re cool, people like you, and, well, you’re doing pretty well for yourself. There may be something romantic about sleeping on the beach or finding a hostel to drop your bags, but let’s face it, you’re too old for that.

While everyone likes those last minute travel deals and that feeling you can grab the next flight and just fly away — life is rarely like the movies, and even if it is, sometimes it turns out to be more like the ending of Up in the Air than the beginning.

So Hilton Worldwide has set in place a plan that requires you to do a little planning — and thinking ahead to grab some fantastic deals.

If you book a Hilton Hotel before the end of January, you can get up to 50 percent off of the room. That’s basically getting three nights for the price of two.

Now it may sound like a pretty good deal, but it’s like the Ginsu knife commercials: Wait, there’s more.

Many of Hilton’s overseas properties are offering a 50 percent discount if you book your room before the end of January (these are the places in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa). Other properties are offering a 33 percent discount if you book the rooms before the end of the month.

People often forget that Hilton Worldwide pretty much owns all of the hotels in the world — except Red Roof Inn. Its holdings including Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton, Doubletree, Embassy Suites Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton and Hilton Grand Vacations.

Hilton Innsbruck, Austria.

There’s a little bit of a risk, sure, but really, you can stay in an excellent hotel and save some change. If you want to score a few points with your boss, mention the deal so he or she can actually plan ahead and book a room for that conference and save some money while you get to enjoy the spacious rooms and luxury amenities. Look, Hilton has properties almost everywhere, so its got something near where you need to be.

And if you’re not an Hilton Honors member, you’re a dolt. It’s free and the only thing it gets you is free stuff.

If it’s easy enough for us to become member (and we are) than it’s easy enough for you to become one too.

Great post! Thanks a lot for sharing. That’s indeed a big deal for business travel (as you say, a good way to impress the boss…) and for leisure travel.
    Cheers!

Blog post or commercial? Disclosure would be nice.

Call it news, perhaps you can call it a travel tip – not a commercial (not getting paid by Hilton) and most certainly not a blog post. Most people don’t catch all the deals out there, we’re just alerting them before the deal runs out.

we actually heard the commercial on the radio and then did a little looking into. The only thing it requires is planning. We could have been a little snarkier about it, but like I said before, it’s more of telling people the deal is out there. We’re always open about if we’re compensated.
