Passenger uses bathroom, detained after flight
Things are getting a little loopy in in the air.
During a United Airlines flight from Chicago to Traverse City, Michigan, one passenger used the bathroom while the plane was flying — most likely because he had to go to the bathroom. Flight attendants thought this was suspicious and he had a bad attitude — probably because he had to go to the bathroom.
So they notified the police and the FBI, who escorted the passenger escorted off the plane, questioned every person on the flight before releasing them, closed the airport for about a half hour and delayed a flight from leaving and another one from arriving at Cherry Capital Airport.
Witnesses told the Associated Press that the man, who was not named, got up, walked to the lavatory, was in there for about five minutes and then went back to his seat.
A United Airlines spokeswoman told the AP that flight attendants said he was a “disruptive passenger.”
Unfortunately, HTG thinks these type of flights are going to become more common throughout the country. The better safe than sorry mentality is going to take over as all of us will face more questions and more inconveniences. It’s inevitable and truly a shame. Fear has taken over when common sense should be the rule.
Using the bathroom on a plane is not federal offense and neither is being annoyed at a flight attendant or being a douche bag — though there is no proof this man was nothing more than a guy with a small bladder.
