Six nights in Rome, $649 w/ air

Even the gladiator couldn’t find a package deal this good, kind of.

Tucked between $89 rooms in Mexico and a seven day European cruise was this particular deal from Travelzoo.com‘s top 20. (An email blast you should already be signed up for.)

The six-night package in Rome includes breakfast every day in a 3.5 star hotel (though we’re not entirely sure what that is) and airfare from New York City. There’s also some trickery with the pricing on this particular deal — such as the $170 airport tax added to the bill, but the $100 discount you get by including the promo code. Kind of like an electronic shell game.

However, after its all said and done, typical airfare from New York to Rome can cost nearly as much as this particular package.

There are some rules and restrictions, so be sure to check them out. Also, book the package through Travelzoo in this case because you need the promo code to knock off a C-note.
