When you think Marriott, you don’t think turquoise waters, cocktails on the beach and pools that make you never want to leave your lounge chair.
Marriott’s typically mean business meetings and Wifi access to the company email, not tropical islands and bikini. But not all Marriotts are created the same.
Just check out the Marriott and Renaissance Caribbean & Mexico Resorts, which just so happen to be offering a 40 percent discount on rooms between April 1 and September 30 (remember what we’ve said about off-season travel?).
Rooms start at $167 a night at St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino and $214 a night for rooms at St. Thomas at Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort on St. Thomas.
Now these particular deals do require you book by March 31. Though we like a place that only charges for the room instead of trying to halve the price by saying its $199 a night per person and requiring two people — there’s something that always seems unfair about that.
For the money, this means you can grab a flight and a room for a few nights for under $500 — and you just might spend more buying rounds of PBR and cheap Chinese over a long weekend at home. Why not try the same thing with a little sunburn on your nose?
