Hipsters flee Detroit in Droves

P8130040If you’ve never seen it, you may not even believe it: The Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit Michigan. This event depletes the entire state of hipsters almost as quickly as the day of driving old cars depletes ozone.

Roughly 1 million people gather along a 10 mile stretch of road to watch classic cars drive by. Then people turn around and drive by again, and again, and again and well, you get the picture.

Really, the cruising starts about a week before the official day — but today is the biggest part of the attraction. If you love classic cars, this is the one-day extravaganza that will satiate for a year.

However, hipsters don’t qualify: None of the people driving along Woodward have their parent’s gas card in their back pocket and what self respecting hipster would even own a car, much less a 1972 Chevelle SS — and Lord knows they have no idea what 442 means.

However, if you are a big car fan, nothing compares to the massive collection of vehicles on display along thisP8130021 stretch of road. This is also the only time Detroit has a real traffic jam: It’s kind of like the 405 on a Tuesday morning.
