Anyone surprised that none of the are US carriers?
The best of the best airlines are pretty much from Asia.
The 10 Best
1. Asiana Airlines
2. Singapore Airlines
3. Qatar Airways
4. Cathay Pacific
5. Air New Zealand
6. Etihad Airways
7. Qantas Airways
8. Emirates
9. Thai Airways
10. Malaysia Airlines
Skytrax, which surveys 17.9 million passengers over a 10 month period to determine the
Passenger Choice Awards, named Asiana Airlines as the world’s best airline. Singapore Airlines was the second best and Qatar Airways was No. 3.
Known as “The Passenger’s Choice” awards, Skytrax handed out the honors in Hamburg this week.
None of the airlines we typically fly are anywhere on the list — as the best airline in North
America was Air Canada — which didn’t surprise us at all. (Singapore and Qatar do fly out of the US, Asiana does not.)
The big winners seem to offer a lot more than $5 box lunches or charge for use of the overhead bin.
No, these airlines pretty much are filled with Geisha Girls, have sh
owers on board and pamper to your every need. (There’s a sat phone for calls, beds for passengers, sushi betwe
en names and a full makeup bag for passengers, just in case you need it.) Singapore Airlines will provide you with a suite if you have enough money — complete with flat screen TV and a bed.
Check out some of these pictures we gathered from the top three airlines media websites.
