Gun Slinging in Las Vegas

I’m arriving at the Las Vegas airport, a town I visit regularly and what does my wandering eye see as I ascend from the arrival level to the baggage claim via escalator? An ad the size of a freight truck for a little place affectionately called ‘The Gun Store.’

It only takes me about six seconds to read the well written ad and find that I, regular joe citizen, can shoot semi-automatic weapons at a local indoor range for a nominal fee. Hmm. When the hell am I ever going to shoot a semi-automatic rifle or a Gloc in my lifetime. As an automotive industry girl, OC mom and part-time travel freak the answer there is, oh, now and only now.

The Gun Store
I check into The Red Rocks Resort, way off the strip, but worth it if you are looking to relax and enjoy the scenery and take in some hiking in Summerlin. The next day, based on the airport ad, I hopped in a cab and headed to The Gun Store.

Here you can choose from a variety of weapons and just pay for the ammunition. You can also choose your target. I believe they still have George Bush targets as well as Osama Bin Laden targets to shoot at. I chose a Glock hand gun and an M-16. Both had kick for my five-foot frame. The pistol knocked my ear protection back with every shot. I found the M-16 a bit easier to handle. Either way it was crazy awesome.

Check out The Gun Store in Las Vegas for a one-time opportunity to shoot semi-automatic weapons and other fun guns– unless you are in the military then this will be boring.
