The only thing better than a flight to somewhere new is a fresh libation to cut the edge off of the jet lag.
Continental Airlines has now added a few fresh cocktails to its long haul menu.
“We continue to search for premium offerings to give our customers more choices inflight,” said
Mark Bergsrud, senior vice president of marketing programs and distribution, in a news release. “The new specialty cocktails are top-quality products for our customers to enjoy.”
Indeed. Continental cut deals with Stirrings and Red Bull for a few lessons in mixology and fresh adult beverages. The pricey drinks (they cost $9) include a Mojito — Ernest Hemingway’s rum version of the Mint Julep, a pomegranate martini and a Red Bull vodka, for those who think getting jittery drunk on flights is fun.
The new drinks are now available on Continental flights and are part of the airline’s effort to overhaul it’s offerings to passengers. This fall, the airline will introduce a new menu. At least people can now wash that airline food down with a little more style.

I love flavored martinis! Must be due to hubby’s influence, lol! Pomegranate martini is simply my favorite. ‘Love the color, love the flavor! I have to try Ernest Hemingway’s rum version of the Mint Julep. So, for sure, we’ll be flying Continental Air next time we travel, lol!
We’ve never picked a flight because of the wine list, but it’s as good a reason as any — and nowadays, once you’re crammed into an airplane, every one deserves a good cocktail.
