While much of America lacks a decent rail system, or we’re just so far away from everything hitting the rails isn’t practical, in the Northeast, trains still rule.
Hopping a train out of New York City to DC is easier than flying and there isn’t the hassle of the TSA, cramped seats or figuring out who’s going to pick you up once you get to your destination.
The train life is relaxing, social and an all around good time. It’s also really cheap.
Amtrak is offering up a big sale at the moment that includes $35 tickets from New York City to Philledelphia, $10 tickets from Boston to Providence, RI and a slew of other deals.
If you get the chance, take the train. If you need a reason, think of it as your hassle free eco adventure.
Naturally, there are some rules to these cheap tickets. You have to buy your ticket 14 days in advance, and there are a couple of black out dates, the typical ones you’d expect — Thanksgiving and Christmas.
