A true hipster traveler knows how important it is to travel during the off season. Avoiding tourists is the first piece of advice we’d offer any traveler because what’s the point of going to some far away land to meet someone from Wisconsin?
Of course, one of the perks of avoiding peak travel time in any particular area is it might also save you a few dollars.
So have you heard about the Green Season in Costa Rica?
A few years ago, HTG headed down to Costa Rica for just that in September. The mornings are plush and sunny, the afternoons, rainy, the evenings drunken.
The
Green Season runs from May through November and because of the chance of showers, manyAmericans avoid Costa Rica during this time. It’s awesome.
The Costa Rica Marriott Collection is capitalizing on this by trying to entice travelers with a Green Season promotion by cutting prices by as much as 50 percent through October at its four properties in Costa Rica.
Rates start at $276 per night and include:
- Deluxe accommodations for two
- Daily adventure tour for two (type of adventure will vary depending upon the property)
- Daily spa treatments for two at either Kuö Spa or Sibö Rainforest Spa & Retreat
- Breakfast for two, daily
With the rain coming in the afternoon — and sometimes it’s fantastically powerful — that means you should head out in the morning, have fun, get back to the resort by mid afternoon, head down to the spa for a rub down, take a short nap, head to dinner and then a night out on the town.
Yeah, that doesn’t sound like a bad deal to us either.
