Hipster Travel Guide doesn’t have an official airline, but if we did, it just might be Virgin America.
The airline emits a coolness that no other airline seems to possess and the name allows you to say the word “virgin” without offending anyone.
Now, Virgin has created a partnership with Joie de Vivre Hotels, California’s boutique hotels, to let travelers double dip on all of those points you can collect to earn free stuff. Between now and the end of the year, for every dollar you spend at one of the boutique hotels, you will earn a point to the Joy of Life Club — the hotel’s point reward system — and one point on Virgin’s Elevate system. (At the end of the year, you can earn points for either reward system.
Now, for the free stuff: Virgin is calling this partnership “a perfect match” and has offered up a down and dirty social media contest that allows people to submit their idea of a perfect match on Twitter and the best one will get a free plane ride to San Francisco or Los Angeles and a free two night stay at Joie de Vivre Hotels.
Free is very cool. The contest ends 11:59 p.m. July 29. Make sure your hashtag includes #JoieDeVX. For consideration.
