American Airlines recently added a new direct flight from JFK to San Jose, Costa Rica and to mark the occasion, Marriott Hotels and Resorts in Costa Rica are offering a 40 percent discount to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The Resident Rate starts rooms prices at $101 and can save anyone living in the original Tri State Area up to $80 a night.
There are four different Marriott properties in Costa Rica that have joined the resident rate discount, which lasts until the end of the year — though there are some black out dates.
