The new American Idol?
Steve Slater, for his outrageous outburst on board a Jet Blue flight landing at J.F.K. Sure, he was reckless in his actions, but what a way to stick it to the man and go out in a blaze of glory, inflated jump chute and all. Here’s a secret hero to many, especially the countless flight attendants who face the ugly truth of the American public trapped in a flying tin can on a daily basis. Right, wrong or indifferent, you have to admire his conviction.
To this end, we salute you, Mr. Slater, for keepin’ it real.
And if you really support Steve Slater, go to JetBlue’s website and fill out the airline’s
compliment form.
As for the our pouring of support, Slater is grabbing lots of it.
On one of the new Facebook pages to pop up, here’s s sampling of support:
Trish Foley Bachand Kudos to Steve for enforcing a government aviation law. Everyone must stay seated until the plane comes to a complete stop. Someone should have thrown that B%tch out the chute without the beer. Can’t wait to see the movie.
Roseann Conway Steven you are AWESOME! As a former F/A I empathize with you. That passenger had no right to speak to you that way. Especially when you were trying to enforce FAA Regs and provide for her safety. She should be banned from ALL airlines indefinitely. She also interfered with the duties of a F/A which is a violation of FAA REGS. Steven you rock!
Diana Olson AWSOME JOB DUDE! I work retail and we all know there have been times when we wanted to do the same. Hats off to you. Good luck and who do you want to play you in the movie!
And don’t forget, the ballad of Steve Slater.

good for you steven,no employee should have to take crap from the buyers.I applaud you and support your actions. The criminal action was the lady who got away with assaulting you with a suitcase then added insult by not apologizing. How much should any sane person be willing to take? Good for you.She should face charges not you.
