Policies

Hipster Travel Guide LLC staff will always be open and honest in its reporting. We know our reputation is at stake and it’s difficult to earn and easy lose.

We accept gear and trips from anyone who wishes us to review something, whether it be a hotel, a backpack or a plane ride. However, anyone who thinks they can buy a good review by spending a few dollars on us is mistaken. If someone else is willing to pay for us to stay some where or review something, we will accept the offer for the simple reason we cannot afford to do all of these things on our own dime. We’re a website with very shallow pockets.

However, writers of HipsterTravelGuide.com work for the site, not the travel industry and to assume we would ever trade our opinion for a few pieces of silver is incorrect. The opinions, thoughts and facts written on this site are completely our own. There is no quid-pro-quo.

We will tell readers if a trip is paid for or partially paid for by a sponsor. While someone else may pick up the tab, we will never agree to write favorably in exchange for a trip. There’s just something wrong about that idea.

This policy is no different than much of the mainstream media — and we would know — we’ve been in the mainstream media.

Companies provide us access to things typical travelers don’t have because they would like exposure to you. A fair review of anything and everything is the expectation any company providing HipsterTravelGuide.com reporters with a trip must expect.

We thank sponsors for their support, we thank anyone who has helped us go somewhere and see something we may not have otherwise had the chance, and we thank readers for their support. We hope to continue to bring you travel news, reviews and interesting ideas for many years to come.
